EGOCENTRIC VECTOR OF TRANSAVANTGARDE

Track of my work over the years between 1987-2008 paved the direction through the unpredictable eddies of public life, every time creating it's unique portrait. Images came out cocky, sometimes playful, and each picture was polishing its philosophic sign in mind fossils faceting a new formula of thought. Finally, all linked to a single algebra, taking the ego-centric vector.

Fragments of my articles of 2002-2012 reveal the essence of this trend:

— The idea of "Egocentric Painting" had been making its way to me for fifteen years, from "Triple Self-Portrait in red shorts" (1989), through "I am reading my favorite book" (1993), through "I decided to have a little rest" (1990 - 1995) and a number of other paintings. This topic was to become the most intimate, the most "inside", until suddenly I comprehended it as "our general", and perhaps the most important one. Then I stopped talking about it blushing as of indecent whims of the artist. Egocentrism is with its both feet at the top of its height and needs to be 'rightfully' reflected in the art!

— ... having passed the path of pernickety analysis, we will rest on the ... indifference to the right answer! Yes, yes, now it is not the time of exact formulas. We live in the age of the individualism, and quality criteria are stuck in the egocentric interests. Today, the best of the proposals for the contact of the viewer with the art and with its assessment is love of the finer points of his senses and the movement of his own thought. Egocentrism is on the menu today. Praise and eulogy to it:

I'll tell you about the Ego. Hello, Ego!
Today I came to Myself, hello to Me!

— Egocentrism is a tactic not only of the critic or ordinary viewer in the development of their relationship to the product. First of all, I define egocentrism as the trend in art. This is an immersion of the artist into the world of his own interests, narcissism with complete indifference to the viewer, criticism, advertising, art spaces and art commerce. Functioning apart from society organizations, egocentric person is free indeed. Here is a phrase from my article: "Unfortunately, in any remarkable painting one can find nothing more than the name of its creator", it is a declaration of the limits of egocentrism.
